Stuart Holmes Named as Salon of the Year 2010

The Stuart Holmes Hair and Beauty Spa last night scooped one of the highest accolades in the British hairdressing industry. The Cheltenham-based salon was named as The Salon of the Year at the highly coveted British Hairdressing Business Awards which were held at The Lancaster Hotel in central London. The salon fought off strong competition from the likes of Michael Van Clarke and Sir Trevor Sorbie to win the title.

Speaking after the ceremony, Stuart said winning the award was a highlight of his career. “To be named as Salon of the Year is simply amazing. Nothing can describe how I feel. I am incredibly proud of the whole team and I would like to thank them for all their hard work – without them we would not have been able to achieve this.’

The entire Stuart Holmes team was down in London last night for the award ceremony. Huge cheers erupted from the 800 strong audience when the Cheltenham salon was named as overall winners.

Stuart, who started the salon with his wife six-years ago, said the atmosphere was electric. “It was an incredible event. For our industry, it really is the equivalent to the Oscars. To be a winner is truly historic. It will put the salon and Cheltenham hairdressing on the map,” he said.

The Stuart Holmes team returned to Gloucestershire in the early hours of this morning. Celebrations will be rife at the salon today with champagne being served throughout the day to all clients.
